After a busy summer, I am thrilled to announce the next step for Hyphen: HyphenNation.
HyphenNation is a collaborative website, used not only as a way for me to find families who would like to be featured in the documentary, but to encourage a new discussion around race and culture. I want to challenge the definition of identity by allowing the sharing of content and perspectives. Anyone can join and participate. If you have a photo, an interesting link to an article you found, a video or text, you can share it on HyphenNation by submitting it via the "Share your Story" page. If you would like to submit your content anonymously, you can do so by sending me a note via the "Questions?" page and choosing the "Ask Anonymously" option before submitting.
I will be contributing to the site with content and news about Hyphen myself, but I can't wait to see what you all have to say. From the conversations I've already had about this topic, I know there is a lot left to tackle and so many perspectives I haven't heard yet.
Despite feeling a bit overwhelmed after the amazing fundraiser screening night this past May, I am so excited about getting back into a productive mode and moving forward with the project.
If you have any questions about HyphenNation or would like to talk to me about being featured in the film, you can contact me via email at warrior.renaud[at]gmail[dot]com.
Let’s work together to build a new, more inclusive nation!
