Hyphen: Gabriela's Story

Hyphen: Gabriela’s Story is a short documentary which explores the cultural identity of a multiracial family in Canada. The film challenges definitions of identity and is an ernest and intimate portrayal from the filmmaker’s personal life. This short film is the first part of a bigger project, looking at multiracial identity across Canada. 

Official selection of the 2016 Mirror Mountain Film Festival, Ottawa and winner of the Best Local Film award.

Dreaming in Colour

Dreaming in Colour is an experimental documentary, created by Sabrina Catalogna and myself, which explores the visual perception of Kim Holdbrook, a blind woman. It features the daily life and struggles of this single mother and focuses on her journey through the disability and her now positive outlook of her situation.

Official selection of the 43rd World Film Festival, Montreal and winner for Best Experimental Film in the student film category.

Go West, Young Women

2 weeks, 6166 km, 3 iPods, 5 campfires, 30 cups of coffee, 1 detour due to flooding, 3 bald eagles,1 bear, 4 lake swims, 1 guitar/ukulele jam session, 1000 bug fatalities on the windshield/bumper, 1 bottle of Kraken, 1 toe injury (due to bottle of Kraken), 4 reunion visits, 5 provinces.

I produced this video for Ottawa-based initiative, Community Knowledge Exchange. CKX is an iterative and open approach to building and sharing community knowledge.

This video was created to launch registration for their inaugural CKX Summit, happening November 2014.
